MH50 II / MH80 II / MPL80 II grease replenishment and exchange
These handling robots, used with the DX200, use Molywhite RE No.00 in every axis reducer. The amount injected differs between regular replenishment and exchange, where the old grease is replaced.
Grease amounts per axis
| Axis | Replenishment | First replenishment only | Exchange |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 520 cc | 1040 cc | approx. 2600 cc |
| L | 250 cc | 500 cc | 1650 cc |
| U | 140 cc | 280 cc | 700 cc |
| R (MH50 II, MH80 II) | 700 cc | 1400 cc | 3500 cc |
| R (MH50 II-35) | 1080 cc | 2160 cc | 5400 cc |
| B and T (shared) | 300 cc | 600 cc | 1500 cc |
The MPL80 II has no R-axis reducer.
Before you start
- Inject with a dedicated grease pump. Set the air supply pressure to the pump to 0.3 MPa or less and the injection rate to 8 g/s or less.
- Fill the hoses on the inlet side with grease beforehand, so that no air enters the reducer.
- Never inject with the plug still fitted. Grease can get into the motor or push out the reducer's oil seal, causing a failure.
- Do not fit joints or hoses to the exhaust port. This can push out the oil seal.
- On ceiling-mounted robots, the inlet and exhaust ports are reversed.
Work sequence (S-axis example)
- Remove the plug from the exhaust port.
- Remove the plug from the inlet port and fit the G nipple PT1/4.
- Inject the specified amount through the inlet. For an exchange, stop when the old grease has finished coming out of the exhaust port and new grease starts to appear (tell them apart by colour).
- Before closing the exhaust port, move the S axis for a few minutes to push out excess grease.
- Check that the grease has stopped coming out, wipe it off, then fit the plug to the exhaust port (apply ThreeBond 1206C to the thread, 23 N·m).
- Replace the G nipple on the inlet with its plug (also with sealant, 12 N·m).
Fitting the plug while grease is still coming out forces grease into the motor. For the L axis, U axis and others, put the robot into the specified posture before starting, and check the tightening torque for each axis in the manual.
