YRC1000 bypass cables
If wiring running inside the manipulator (an internal lead) breaks, the production line stops. Bypass cables are first-aid cables for exactly that situation. They route motor power and encoder signals around the broken lead so that a stopped line can be brought back quickly.
Components
| Item | Length | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Bypass unit | — | Relays each cable |
| Motor power bypass cable | 10 m | From the bypass unit to the motor power connector |
| Encoder bypass cable | 2 m or 3 m | Encoder cable to the multi-port connector. If outfitting or a jacket means it will not reach, use the maximum-length 10 m version |
| Robot connection cable | 1 m | From the bypass unit to the robot |
| Bypass cable for equipment cables | 10 m | To the existing equipment cables |
| External axis bypass cable | 10 m | From the bypass unit to the existing external axis cable |
For medium and large models with a payload of 50 kg or more, bypass units ordered from May 2023 onwards have a built-in encoder power supply board box. They connect differently, so check the relevant section of the manual.
Precautions
- These are for emergencies. Do not use them permanently.
- Always turn off the robot controller power before connecting them, and before opening or closing the unit.
- Connecting the temporary wiring for one axis to the wrong axis's motor can destroy equipment. Check the wiring thoroughly before turning the power on.
