YRC1000 security modes
On the YRC1000, the operations you can perform from the programming pendant are divided into security modes. The higher the mode, the more items you can change. Most maintenance tasks, such as home position calibration, changing parameters or setting the date and time, can only be done in management mode.
The modes
| Mode | Intended user | Examples of what it allows |
|---|---|---|
| Operation mode | Line operators | Everyday basic operation such as start and stop |
| Editing mode | People who teach the robot | Teaching and editing jobs, general robot settings |
| Management mode | System administrators and maintenance staff | Changing parameters, system time and user IDs; home position calibration |
| Safety mode | The person responsible for safety settings | Editing safety-related files such as functional safety settings |
| One-time management mode | Service engineers | Special maintenance work; requires a code issued by the manufacturer's service department |
User ID rules
- Editing and management mode: 4 to 16 digits
- Safety mode: 9 to 16 digits
- Allowed characters: digits 0–9, "-" and "."
About the factory user IDs
This site does not publish the factory user ID (password) values. Look them up in the official manual you have:
- RE-CHO-A114 (YRC1000 Maintenance Manual, English edition), p.2-7 (PDF page 43), section 2.1.1.1
- HW1485508 (Smart Pendant instructions, Japanese edition), p.13-9 (PDF page 544), section 13.4.1 "Changing the security mode"
If the factory values are left unchanged, anyone can change parameters and safety settings. Always change them during commissioning, and keep the new IDs under your own control.
Switching modes
- From the main menu, select SYSTEM INFO → SECURITY.
- Select the mode you want.
- When moving to a higher mode, enter the user ID and confirm with [ENTER].
No user ID is needed to move down to a lower mode.
